FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is a F.I.T. Body Programme?
A F.I.T. Body Programme is the science-based way to ditch dieting forever and achieve a healthy mind and body that you feel good about for the rest of your life. It’s based on my own scientific research at University College London, one of the world's leading research institutions, and decades of groundbreaking studies into the most effective ways to maintain weight loss in the long-term. This system applies scientific insights to three main pillars: MIND, BODY and FOOD. I create and implement every F.I.T. programme personally so that you can make long-term shifts in your mindset and integrate positive habits into your day to enjoy a longer, happier life in a fitter, healthier body.
What's been holding me back so far?
You've probably never addressed the root causes of your overeating, food choices and level of activity. Most books, programmes and sessions with health and fitness professionals focus on nutrition or exercise. What you eat and what you do are two fundamental factors of health, which is why they form two out of the three pillars of my method (BODY and FOOD). However, other approaches usually miss out the most important pillar: your MIND.

Knowing that you should eat more fruit/veg and go to the gym more often is different to actually living this way. Common sense isn’t applied sense. Your personal trainer, nutritionist, or medical doctor will hopefully give you excellent nutritional and exercise advice, which is important. However, I’d bet that the reason that you don't have the body that you want isn’t a lack of information. Most people know that it’s unhelpful to binge on junk food even when they’re full, but they still find it virtually impossible to stop. In order to gain control over your eating and apply the knowledge you have, you have to address the underlying causes and understand your own mindset. When your mind is in the right place, healthy actions naturally follow.
Will a F.I.T. programme work for me?
I have a proven track record with clients: this method works because it’s based on the latest scientific evidence and creates lasting changes by tackling the root causes of overeating and under-exercising. Other approaches may not be science-based and typically try to make external changes to what you eat. However, unless you can manage the internal thoughts and feelings that cause you to turn towards food in the first place, you’ll continually revert to old behaviours, such as binge-eating, continually snacking and eating even when you’re full. Together we will address the underlying factors that are maintaining your current situation, including the most powerful influences: your emotions and way of thinking.
Who does Dr. Aria work with? Does he only coach celebrities?
I work with people who often describe wanting to look better, feel better and have more energy. My clients do include film and TV actors, creative artists, and sportspeople. However, you don't have to be a public figure to train with me or to benefit from your own F.I.T. programme. Whether you're a full-time parent or corporate executive in your sixties or thirties, this method is liveable. Whatever your age, fitness level or background, your F.I.T. programme will be tailored so that you can learn the skills to gain more control over your actions, lead a healthier lifestyle and feel like you've finally mastered this area of your life.
My eating feels out of control at times. Can you help?
You are not alone - in the first session my clients often describe their eating as 'out of control' at times. They might have periods when they have a tight reign over what they eat, but then they 'fall off the wagon' and their eating goes from one extreme to the other. Reason flies out the window and even although they know on paper what they should do, they feel as if they don't have control and they can't help it. They wonder 'what's wrong with me?' The good news is that the F.I.T. Method addresses this. Here are some other common experiences of the people I coach and areas that can be addressed through your personalised programme:
-
Impulse eating
-
Eating even when full
-
Stress eating
-
Emotional overeating
-
Eating too quickly
-
Thinking about food all the time
-
Mindless grazing throughout the day
-
Restrictive eating and then binging
-
Late night food cravings
-
Feeling guilty about eating certain foods or amounts
-
Feeling anxious about social events involving food
-
Worrying what others would think if they knew 'the truth'
How is my F.I.T. programme tailored to me?
By gaining a detailed understanding of your psychology, lifestyle, environment and social influences in our first session, I leverage that data to create your personalised programme. Your bespoke F.I.T. programme therefore starts with you and is specifically designed around your preferences, interests and lifestyle. You are as unique as your fingerprint. Your upbringing, genetics and way of thinking will be different even to your closest family members. Why you are in your current situation and how this is being maintained is distinct to you. A reason why most diet and exercise programmes do not work in the long-term is because there is no one-size-fits-all solution that can be applied to everyone. By working collaboratively, you will develop greater self-awareness and acquire the specific skills that you need to overcome barriers and maximise your results.
What will my F.I.T. programme involve?
The initial session involves questions that will uncover the subconscious beliefs, emotional attachments and social influences that are holding you back. This information is used to tailor the remaining sessions, focusing on three main areas: MIND, BODY and FOOD. Your programme is fluid and will evolve as you gain new insights and different hurdles arise. Each programme is unique, but could include psychological tools to overcome overeating, mindset training during personal training sessions to maximise your workout results, and a nutritional review based on the latest scientific evidence to optimise the way that you fuel and nourish your body.

How often will I be training with Dr. Aria?
F.I.T. programmes typically last around 12 weeks and involve weekly sessions with me. However, this can be adjusted to fit your needs.
Where do the sessions take place?
F.I.T. programmes usually involve weekly video calls. However, it is possible to have face-to-face sessions, within the U.K. and internationally. I understand that your life is busy and your time is precious. My service is based on efficiency and convenience, and so I always do my best to accommodate your schedule.
How much will my F.I.T. programme cost?
Every programme is bespoke and so prices vary accordingly. Individual consultations are available. As a rough guide, the average price of a programme with video calls is £2500 per month. Your programme will be designed so that you develop the skills and habits to continue to move towards your goals long after our sessions end. This is not a magical fix to quickly lose 10kg and then regain it all back again. In order to gain control over your eating and exercise once and for all, you have to address the root causes and understand your own mindset. This is about becoming empowered so that you finally take control of your health and are fit for life.
What results will I see?
In our first two sessions you will define the results that you want to achieve. Your programme will then be designed to move you towards these goals in a sustainable way. The evidence-based psychological and behavioural habits you can integrate into your life have been scientifically shown to result in:
Sustained weight loss
Reduced body fat
Increased lean muscle mass
Greater self-control
Improved fitness
Higher metabolic rates
More positive moods
Increased self-esteem
Reduced feelings of stress and anxiety
Weight is simply one metric to track progress. The benefits of completing a F.I.T. programme reported by clients include:
"I feel better in my clothes... I feel sexy for the first time in years"
"I feel more confident. It's even made a difference at work"
"I don't feel deprived - I'm just making better choices"
"I'm in control of my eating for the first time"
"I don't have cravings anymore"
"I'm actually starting to like my body"
Can I still eat out during the F.I.T. programme?
Yes! Your F.I.T. programme will be designed to fit easily into your lifestyle. Social events often revolve around food and unfortunately become a source of stress and anxiety for some individuals. People tend to fall into an 'all-or-nothing' mindset, either avoiding the events or attending and losing control over how much they eat and drink. With a F.I.T. mindset you can find a balanced way of living so that you can enjoy restaurant meals, nights out, and social occasions with your friends and family while still moving towards the goals that are most important to you.
Why choose Dr. Aria?
If you want to have a strong, healthy and energised mind and body for the next 10, 20, 30 years or longer, you have to address the underlying causes of overeating and change your behaviour through making long-term shifts in your mindset. Achieving this on your own can be tricky because you weren't born with a user manual to your brain. Plus, it's even harder to gain perspective and identify your own patterns of thinking that are holding you back. I have a doctorate in psychology and I'm an expert in behaviour change. I specialise in health and I've dedicated my career to understanding how your mind affects what you do. I've also completed the Certified Personal Training course with the National Academy of Sports Medicine and take an evidence-based approach to nutrition. I'm passionate about empowering people to be the author of their own health story and live their best life. This is why I've developed an individualised, science-based approach that tackles underlying causes and trains your mind so that you can take back control of your health.
